Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Traffic Division Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen says the police have been out in their numbers at PICA’s Constant Spring Road head office to ensure normalcy in the area.

The police officers have been trying to maintain order as more and more persons turn up at the passport office in an attempt to secure the travel document before increases take effect next week.

Traffic came to a snarl in the vicinity of the office this morning.

However, SSP Allen says the police are working to ensure that motorists are not inconvenienced by the crowds.

He says there is no need for persons to avoid the area.

Meanwhile, SSP Allen is advising persons not to drive their vehicles to PICA’s head office.

He says persons should try to have persons drop them off as parking spaces are limited.
