Prominent attorney Patrick Bailey bail extended
A plea and case management hearing has been set for next month in the fraud case involving prominent attorney Patrick Bailey.
When the matter came before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, prosecutors also indicated that the case file is incomplete as there is an outstanding statement.
Bailey's $1 million bail was extended.
He is to return to court on June 18.
The lawyer is charged with conspiracy to defraud and forgery in relation to a land deal in 1996.
The Crown alleges that Bailey was retained by the complainant to sell a property valued at $25 million.
It is further alleged that the property was transferred to another person without the owner's knowledge or consent.
Bailey is among several prominent lawyers currently facing fraud related charges.
