Flash flood watch issued for eastern parishes
The Meteorological Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood prone areas of St Mary, Portland, St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew until 5 a.m Sunday.
A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.
The Met Service says a trough across Jamaica is producing showers and thunderstorms across eastern parishes and hilly inland areas of central and western.
Satellite imagery and radar observations indicate that moderate to heavy showers have affected mainly eastern parishes.
The forecast is for unstable weather conditions to continue across eastern parishes especially, St Mary, Portland and St Thomas during the next 24-48 hours.
