Mercedes Benz crashes into truck, woman killed

A motor vehicle crash in Trelawny this morning has left one woman dead and another person hospitalised in critical condition.

The woman has been identified as 31-year-old Lacy-Ann Whyte, of Race Course district.

It is reported that Whyte was a passenger in a Mercedes Benz motor vehicle that was travelling in a westerly direction along the North Coast highway shortly after 4 o’clock.

According to police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a truck that was parked along the roadway.

The driver was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where he has been admitted in critical condition.

331 persons were killed in motor vehicle crashes last year.
