Popular broadcaster, Richie B, has left the St James-based radio station, Mello FM.

Richie B, whose real name is Richard Burgess left Hot 102FM just over two years ago to join Mello.

However, the broadcaster has issued a statement confirming earlier reports that he is no longer presenting at Mello.

"Without going into too much detail, a particular benefit that was included in my original contract, was being removed, I thought, unjustifiably, and that led to the stalemate,"‎ Richie B said.

"I wish to thank the management and staff with whom I worked, for the leverage and latitude that I was given to present in what was a new slot for me and for their help in making the programme as successful as it turned out to be," he said.

Richie B said he will be focusing his attention on his new wholesale liquor centre in Kingston, but was not yet ready to close his chapter on radio as a broadcaster.
