A 37-year-old hairdresser died in a crash along the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon last night.

She is Jillian Salmon of Hunts Pen district in the capital, May Pen.

Our Clarendon correspondent reports that about 10:30 last night, a car with four occupants was travelling along the Bustamante Highway when the driver stopped to make a right turn in the vicinity of Dampy. A truck, travelling behind the car, slammed into its back, injuring the occupants.

Passersby quickly pulled the victims from the car and rushed them to hospital. However, it appears Salmon died on the way to hospital. The driver of the car and another passenger were treated and released while the fourth occupant remains in hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the truck is being questioned by police.
