Gleaner apologises to Supreme Ventures

Published:Monday | June 1, 2015 | 6:00 AM

Yesterday's Sunday Gleaner column, 'The lottery is a nasty tax on poor people', drew certain parallels expressly or impliedly to the business model/practices of Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), which upon further reflection, are regretted by The Gleaner Company.

In retrospect, some of the parallels drawn were unfair to SVL, which would not have had an opportunity to respond, given the nature of the piece. As such, The Gleaner apologises to Supreme Ventures Ltd, its executives, and co-founders Paul Hoo and Ian Levy for any embarrassment occasioned by the publication as it appeared yesterday.
