St Ann:

Acting head of the St Ann police Superintendent Steve Brown says the division is coping despite the fact that several police officers failed to report for work today.

Brown said while he was unable to give a definite figure as to those who did not report to work, the division was managing.

“A number of officers did not report for work but we have enough to manage critical areas,” Brown told The Gleaner this morning.

Rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are protesting against the government’s offer of a five per cent wage increase for the JCF.

They want 100 per cent increase.
