Some 28,932 names have been added to the May 31 voters’ list published by the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ).

The ECJ says a total of 1,793,039 electors are on the current list - 25,973 more than the one published last November.

At the same time the ECJ says 2,959 names were removed including those of 1,973 electors who have been confirmed as dead.

In the meantime, the Trelawny Southern and St Andrew North Eastern constituencies are now in breach of the constitutionally-determined lower limit of 18,973.96 electors.

The ECJ says copies of the voters’ list will be placed at post offices across the country and will also be available at its constituency offices.

Additionally, persons may check online at www.ecj.com.jm

The next voters’ list will be published on November 30.

Persons wishing to have their names added to that list should register by the end of September.
