The Head of the Police Area 3, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kevin Blake, says all critical areas of policing including hotspots are ‘adequately’ covered.

Blake was responding to an email from The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre regarding the impact of the industrial action by rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Area 3 covers St Elizabeth, Manchester and Clarendon.

The senior policeman says all the parishes have benefited from a deployment of Jamaica Defense Force personnel.

"I am mindful of the jitters that exist among civic society regarding this troubling situation that the nation now face ... and also the show of confidence that the society at large has in our ability to serve and protect", the ACP said.

He added "However, I want to reassure the wider public that, even though we are experiencing a fall in our numbers for deployment, we have all critical areas, including hotspots appropriately covered.”

The ACP says the JCF has been and will continue to provide all the necessary services.
