Some 20 schools across the island, plus the paediatric and labour wards at the Spanish Town and Victoria Jubilee hospitals, respectively, received a well-needed facelift on Labour Day, courtesy of the staff of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) and volunteers from the NCB Foundation.

Advantage General Insurance Company staff and scholarship recipients of the NCB Foundation also volunteered with community members towards the projects.

At the Elletson Primary and Infant School, volunteers painted the walls and cleaned the classrooms. At the labour ward at Victoria Jubilee Hospital, soiled ceiling tiles as well as the entire lighting system were replaced with new ballasters and starter bulbs. Three fans were also installed.

At Mizpah Primary School in Manchester, the team tiled the passageway, painted the interior and exterior of the school building, repaired the gutter, and cleaned classrooms, corridors and school grounds. Broken tiles and walls were repaired, rotting partitions and cupboards were replaced and walls were painted at the paediatric ward of the Spanish Town Hospital.
