Mob chops suspected robber to death in Guy’s Hill

Angry residents of Guy’s Hill, St Catherine reportedly chopped a suspected robber to death this morning.

And it’s understood that the angry mob of 20-25 persons are now in search of the dead man’s son, who is believed to have assisted him in carrying out a series of robberies in Guy’s Hill and surrounding communities in the parish.

According to reports reaching The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre, the father-son team had just carried out a heist at a shop and were transporting the load, which included sardines, flour and beer, when their vehicle ran off the road in Tavern Hill.

It is understood that the men were in the process of transferring the stolen goods to another vehicle, when they were set upon by the angry mob.

The father was reportedly killed in the attack.

However, the son reportedly escaped from the crowd.

Head of the St Catherine North Police, Senior Superintendent of Police, Marlon Nesbeth has confirmed that a homicide occurred after the robbers were in an accident while attempting to get away with the stolen merchandise.
