Jamaica Chamber of Commerce President offers advice to public sector unions

 President of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Warren McDonald says public sector unions shouldn’t demand too much from the government as they continue to negotiate for an increase in wages.

The unions have been offered a seven per cent wage increase over the next two years. 

However, several of the unions, including the Jamaica Teacher's Association, the Police Federation and the Nurses Association of Jamaica are displeased with the offer.

Speaking earlier this morning, Warren said public sector unions must consider the impact their actions will have on the economy

The JCC President says the unions and the government have excellent representation in their negotiations and good sense will prevail.
