Scotia Investment and Scotia Insurance took their message into Mandeville when they hosted an estate-planning seminar for some of their customers at the branch. Some 100 persons attended the event which included a special presentation by estate-planning consultant and attorney Denise James.

James had a captive audience as she went through the steps of estate planning. She shared the best options to minimise taxes and remove the complications that surround the division of estates upon probate; the importance of having a will, and why it is best that a beneficiary always be named on titles for land, houses, shares and bank accounts.

Presentations were also made by Hugh Reid, president of Scotia Insurance, and Gregory Samuels, vice-president of Scotia Investments, on insurance trends and the benefits of investing in the stock market.
