The JUTC said from Sunday, July 5 to Saturday, August 29, adults will pay $100 instead of $120 on its regular services.

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says it will be slashing fares for adult passengers by $20 this summer.

In a release this afternoon, the JUTC said from Sunday, July 5 to Saturday, August 29, adults will pay $100 instead of $120 on its regular services.

It says premium and express services will be not be included in the special summer fare arrangement.

According to the JUTC, all adult commuters including students between the ages of 12 and 20 in uniform who customarily do not get concession fares during the summer months, on holidays and weekends will qualify for the discounted summer fare.

"This limited summer special is to induce these commuters to take our buses and experience the JUTC service," said JUTC managing director Colin Campbell.

The JUTC says between 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 it increased its passenger load by almost six million moving from 52. 3 million in 2013/2014 to 58.2 million for 2014/2015.
