The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says yesterday’s destruction of one of its buses is now the subject of a police investigation.

Marketing and communications manager at the JUTC, Clinton Clarke, says the company’s engineers confirmed that arson was the cause of the blaze which gutted the $38 million bus.

A report from the Jamaica Fire Brigade is outstanding.

Meanwhile, Clarke is urging Jamaicans to take care of the buses.

Clarke says the bus was set alight in Cooreville Gardens St Andrew, after the last passenger disembarked.

No one was injured.

The Marketing and communications manager says it is the fourth bus that has been destroyed by fire in two years.
