Jamaica has become the 105th signatory to the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and will host the international group's upcoming 42nd annual conference.

Executive director of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) Janice Holness signed a multilateral memorandum of understanding (MMOU) when she attended this year's conference in London earlier this month.

This has essentially sealed Jamaica's commitment to engage in consultation and cooperation with global securities regulators as well as the exchange of information globally.

In the meantime, the FSC said preparations for the 42nd annual conference of the IOSCO have already started, which will be hosted at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James, May 14-18, 2017.

According to the FSC, "the 2017 conference promises to attract a large turn-out of global securities regulators and their families as it is also being promoted as an opportunity for a great family vacation in Jamaica with the chance to learn more about our people, history and culture, in addition to showcasing Jamaica's resilience, development, growth and recognition in the global market place".
