The killing of a truck driver in St Margaret's Bay, Portland, last night has further rattled the nerves of residents, as crime surges in the once safest parish.

The dead man has been identified as 38-year-old Christopher Anderson, of a St Margaret's Bay address.

Reports are that Anderson and three of his colleagues were repairing a truck adjacent to the Ken Jones aerodrome, when they were approached by two men with hands guns, who reportedly told them not to move.

It is alleged that Anderson defied the request of the two armed men and ran. He was reportedly chased by one of the gunmen who shot him several times.

The gunmen made their escape in nearby bushes.

Anderson, who was later found suffering from gunshot wounds, was rushed to the Port Antonio hospital where he was pronounced dead.
