WEST KINGSTON ENQUIRY: Lloyd D'Aguilar's group to stay

The Lloyd D’Aguilar-led Tivoli Committee still has standing at the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.

Last week the group, was given until today to provide witness statements to the committee or lose its standing at the commission.

The committee claims to represents several residents in the west Kingston community of Tivoli Gardens who were impacted by the police-military operations in May 2010.

However, despite several promises by previous attorneys, Carol DaCosta and Michael Lorne, up to last week the three-member commission had not received witness statements from any of those persons.

The committee’s attorney Micheal Williams said the statements have now been submitted.

This means the committee will be able to call witnesses to testify before the Commission.

However, Williams says he is uncertain when his first witness will be called.
