Decisive action needed to solve Jamaica's perpetual water problems - JET CEO

Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Environmental Trust (JET) Dianne McCauley says decisive action is needed to solve the countries perpetual water problems.

According to the JET boss, persons have been contemplating possible solutions to the country's water problems for decades.

She says the talking needs to stop.

McCauley, who was speaking in an interview with the Gleaner/ Power 106 News Centre earlier, was commenting in light of the proposed solutions for the country’s water constraints including desalination and piping water from the north to the south.

McCauley also says more focus should be placed on community planning before apartment complexes and housing schemes are built.

She says this will ensure that undue pressure is not placed on resources.
