Family's reserved burial spot taken, St Thomas Parish Council facing legal action
The St Thomas Parish Council is now facing legal action after a burial spot reserved by a family at the Red Hills Cemetery in St Thomas was used to bury someone else.
Secretary Manager of the Parish Council Errol Greene confirmed this morning that the burial spot was used without the knowledge and consent of the local authority.
He says the matter has been reported to the police.
It is the latest in a number of illegal burials being investigated by the St Thomas Parish Council and the police.
Greene says the parish council is now trying to negotiate a settlement with the family that reserved the burial spot.
