Police identify suspect linked to Westmoreland quadruple killing
The Westmoreland Police say they have identified one suspect linked to yesterday's killing of four people in the usually quiet Whithorn community in the parish.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Paul Ferguson is the Commander of Police Area 1, in which Westmoreland falls.
He says following the shooting yesterday afternoon, the police carried out an operation in which some men escaped into bushes.
ACP Ferguson says it's believed that one of those men was involved in the murders.
However, he declined to give the identity of the alleged murderer.
ACP Ferguson says lottery scamming and a year-long gang feud played key roles in Jamaica recording its fourth quadruple killing since the start of the year.
According to reports, four men were at a shop in Old Road on Sunday afternoon playing a video game when four men approached and shot them.
They have been identified as 14-year-old Shawn Clayton, 20-year-old Romario Drummond, 22-year-old Theodore Tennant and 16-year-old Demar Doeman.
The police say one of the murdered men was an accused in a shooting incident that occurred several months ago.
