Uniform deals at Jamaica College this Saturday
Parents of students attending Corporate Area schools will get back-to-school uniform deals on the grounds of Jamaica College (JC) this Saturday.
Various uniform suppliers will be there to sell and take orders at a special fair being hosted by the JC Parent-Teachers Association.
Betty Stephenson Ashley, the association's vice-president, said that various other educational suppliers, financial services and health-care providers, among others, have confirmed their participation for the July 25 event.
She said also that there would be a used-books sale for various levels of the secondary system.
"We have worked hard to bring all the various suppliers in one central location to make the back-to-school experience hassle-free for parents," said Ashley, who noted that the state-owned bus company, the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, would be on hand to sell and top-up smart cards.
Uniform suppliers that have been confirmed include Just Kids, which makes uniforms for JC and Campion College; Goldies Back to School, that sells khakis and uniforms for JC and Campion College; D and M Uniforms, suppliers for Kingston High, Donald Quarrie High, Kingston College, JC and Kingston Technical; and Interdec Designs.
"This is an event that must not be missed," declared the PTA vice-president, who said the fair will begin at 9 a.m.
Ashley noted that the following entities had confirmed involvement in the fair: Digicel, Wisynco, Western Sports, Niche Financing, One and One Educational Services, City of Kingston Sodality Co-operative Credit Union, Office Supplies Brokers, NW Underwear, Tech Loan, Bank of Nova Scotia, Jamaica National Building Society, and Graffik Documents/Games.
