Abductions in York Town, Clarendon trigger protests
The abduction of two women in York Town, Clarendon by gunmen in separate incidents, only days a part, triggered protests by residents in the south western Clarendon community this morning.
One woman was abducted from her home last night and the other by armed men last Tuesday. Their identities were not received up to news time.
Residents blocked roads in the community from 8 a.m. to demonstrate their anger with their political representatives, who they say have not been seen since the recent breakout of violence.
The roadblocks have been dismantled and the police have been maintaining a strong presence in the area. The investigators have, however, remained tight-lipped on the abductions.
