Six firearms and ammo robbed from security company, police launch probe
The police have launched a high-level probe into the circumstances under which gunmen robbed six firearms and more than 70 rounds of ammunition from a private security company in St Andrew this morning.
It is reported that shortly after midnight three men held up and robbed one of the company’s guards of six point 38 revolvers, 72 rounds of ammunition, a cellular phone and an undetermined sum of cash.
In a statement this afternoon, the police urged members of the public who have information on the whereabouts of the robbers and the stolen firearms to come forward and assist in their investigations.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit says persons with information can contact Crime Stop at 311, police emergency number 119 or the nearest police station.
