Veteran broadcaster Fae Ellington awarded Order of Distinction

Fae Ellington has been awarded the Order of Distinction Commander Class for her contribution to Communication, Media, Education and Culture.

Former head of the Sugar Industry Authority, Ambassador Derick Heaven is one of seven Jamaicans who have been awarded membership in the Order of Jamaica.

He is joined by Professor Elsa Leonie-Rhynie, Professor Graham Serjeant, Dr Vincent HoSang, Dr Glenford Christian, Dr Burchell Taylor and Father Louis Grenier.

Head of Digicel, Ireland born Denis O’Brien, has been appointed an honorary member of the order in recognition of his contribution to the telecommunications industry.

RJR Communications Group Managing Director, Gary Allen has been awarded membership in the Order of Distinction Commander Class for his contribution to media and communications.

Head of the Major Organised Crime and Anti Corruption Agency, Colonel Desmond Edwards has been appointed to the Order of Distinction Commander Class for his contribution to the Jamaica Defence Force and national security.

Veteran broadcaster, Fae Ellington has also been appointed to the Order of Distinction Commander Class for her contribution to communication, media, education and culture.

There are no appointments to the Order of Merit this year.
