The State-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) is urging students to regularise their smarter cards in time for the new school year, which begins on September 7.

Marketing and Communications Manager at the JUTC, Clinton Clarke says it’s important that students who have lost or damaged their cards get a replacement now.

Clarke says by getting this done early, children will avoid running into problems at the start of the school term.

In the meantime, the bus company says it expects to roll out a full complement of approximately 452 buses at the start of the new school year.

The JUTC says commuters can expect high quality service and punctuality come September.
