St Andrew woman arrested, charged for harbouring a fugitive
A 52-year-old St Andrew woman has been arrested for harbouring a fugitive.
Detectives attached to the Fraud Squad of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (C-TOC) today arrested Paulette Josephs of Plantation Heights, St Andrew after a wanted man was found at her premises.
She has been bailed in the amount of $200,000 with one surety and is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 28.
The police say they went to the premises to execute a warrant on Norman Espeut who is wanted for questioning in relation to several fraud reports made against him as well as for absconding bail on several counts of obtaining money by false pretence.
It is alleged that on the approach of the police, Espeut ran from the house and escaped.
Josephs who was found at the premises was subsequently arrested.
The police are appealing for Espeut to turn himself in to detectives at the Fraud Squad at 34 Duke Street, Kingston by 9 a.m., on Monday, August 25.
