Constable allegedly kills girlfriend then shoots self, now battling for life in hospital
A police constable who is alleged to have shot and killed his girlfriend at her St Andrew home early this morning is now battling for life in hospital after an apparent suicide attempt.
His identity is being withheld, but sources say he is a detective constable attached to the Hunts' Bay Police Station in St Andrew.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications says it is aware of the incident, but cannot confirm the details.
According to police sources, the constable went to his girlfriend's home in Duhaney Park, St Andrew where he shot her to death.
It's reported that he then travelled to his home in St Mary where he shot himself and had to be rushed to hospital.
Police sources say detectives and scenes of crime personnel are now at the woman's Duhaney Park home.
