The Embassy has placed an advertisement seeking to engage the services of a research and analysis firm to carry out the study.

In addition to the perceptions of Jamaicans of the US, the embassy says the survey will also be seeking to find out how Jamaicans feel about the Jamaica-US relationship and the efforts of the US in Jamaica.

The US has indicated the research is to be a longitudinal survey over a multi-year span.

The United States established diplomatic relations with Jamaica in 1962 following Jamaica’s independence.

According to the US State Department says both countries maintain strong and productive relations, based on trust and mutual interest.

It says the close friendship is built on a foundation of people-to-people ties and a vibrant Jamaican-American community.
