Clarendon taking no chances with Erika, activates disaster preparedness plans

Scean Barnswell says the Clarendon parish council has been involved in an extensive drain cleaning programme to mitigate against flooding and other storm-related disasters in the parish.

The Clarendon parish Council says it is taking no chances in relation to the rains associated with Erika and has activated its disaster preparedness mechanisms.

Chairman of the Clarendon parish council, and mayor of May Pen, Scean Barnswell told The Gleaner/ Power 106 News Centre that the first responders in the parish are already in place in case of emergencies.

He says the parish council has been involved in an extensive drain cleaning programme to mitigate against flooding and other storm-related disasters in the parish.
