Two men have been shot dead and a third injured in Mandeville, Manchester.

The shooting happened about 7 o'clock in a crowded taxi park in the town centre.

The police have not yet released the identities of those killed.

Head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Melvin Brown, says the men appeared to have been shot from close range.

The gunmen escaped.

Brown says one of the men died on the spot, another died at hospital and a third is nursing gunshot wounds.

Brown says it appears the victims were specifically targeted.
