MoBay Expo to focus on manufacturing
President of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gloria Henry, says the 2015 Montego Bay Expo, will focus heavily on manufacturing.
She made the comments this morning during a Gleaner Editors Forum in St James.
Henry says the focus on manufacturing coincides with the improvements in Jamaica's fiscal performance and the imminent lowering of energy costs.
According to the Chamber president, tourism is now a 'mature industry' in Montego Bay, and manufacturing will provide an opportunity for the diversification of the city's economic base.
The Montego Bay Expo will be held on October 9 and 10 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre under the theme 'Inspire, create, next generation'.
