Following a donation by UC Rusal Alumina Jamaica Limited (Windalco), Lontae Walker represented his country internationally in chess for the first time. Walker was among 22 young Jamaican participants in the recently concluded Central American and Caribbean Youth Chess Festival in Trinidad & Tobago, from August 14-19.

He won five of the nine rounds in which he competed, placing him eighth of 30 in the Under-12 category. His participation helped make Jamaica the first English-speaking country to win the championship.

Walker's mother, Listra Clemetson, expressed appreciation for Windalco's assistance. "Without your contribution we would have missed the opportunity to participate in this event. This tournament has motivated my son to do even better and to become the best in his field both locally and internationally," she said.
