Church to announce plans to rebuild girl's home destroyed by fire
The Anglican Church of Jamaica is set to announce plans for the rebuilding of the Wortley Home for Girls.
The announcement is expected to come during a press conference scheduled for Wednesday.
The Wortley Home for Girls, located on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew, was gutted by fire in June.
The Anglican Church says the 19 girls who resided there at the time are now being housed at the SOS Children’s Village, in Stony Hill, St Andrew.
It says since the fire it has been marshalling resources to help rebuild the institution that has been serving troubled young women for nearly a century.
