Police search still on for prisoner who escaped from hospital

The Kingston Western Police are on the hunt for a prisoner who escaped from their custody at the Kingston Public Hospital last night.

Nicholas Drummond, otherwise called ‘Ticki Dollar’, was being held for the July murder of Constable Lynden Barrett. 

Drummond who is one of three suspects in the murder case was captured on Saturday in Kingston. 

It is understood that he ran from the hospital onto the nearby Luke Lane.

Gunmen in the area shot at a police team in pursuit hitting one of the cops in the shoulder.

The cop remains in hospital. 

Head of the Kingston West division, Senior Superintendent Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford says the injury is not serious. 

SSP Ford says the prisoner was taken to hospital after complaining of being beaten by the police.
