It will be absolute madness if PNP loses upcoming election – Mark Golding
Senior People's National Party (PNP) member, Mark Golding, says it would be absolute madness if the governing People's National Party is voted out in the upcoming general election.
According to Golding, the PNP governing party has restored an economy that crashed under the last Jamaica Labour Party administration.
Golding says the PNP already has the backing of the business community.
Meanwhile, Golding has blasted Opposition spokesman on Finance, Audley Shaw, who he partly blames for the economic woes inherited when the PNP took over in 2012.
He says Shaw, who was the finance minister in the last JLP administration, is now proposing policies that could result in an increase in Jamaica's debt.
He was speaking on Sunday at a meeting in West St Andrew, a constituency represented by his fellow Comrade, Anthony Hylton.
It is widely expected that the PNP president Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will call general elections this year.
The elections are constitutionally due by December next year.
