Lloyd B Smith, the sitting Member of Parliament for Central St James, will not represent the People's National Party (PNP) in the next general election.

Delegates this afternoon voted no at a conference held at the Barracks Fort Primary School in Montego Bay.

Some 102 delegates were in attendance.

Sixty-six voted no and 36, yes.

Sylvan Reid, councillor for the Salt Spring division said the vote was democratic.

However, Smith has rejected the results calling the process skullduggery while cited several anomalies.

He says he will be making his objection known to the leadership of the party.
