Two people are now dead after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a tree on the Shettlewood main road yesterday.

The police say they are 34-year-old Daniel Richards of Shettlewood district, Hanover and 22-year-old Romaine Murray of Whithorn, Westmoreland.

The Ramble Police say about 6:30 p.m., Richards, who is an auto-mechanic, and Murray were test driving a Toyota Corolla motorcar when the vehicle hit an embankment and collided into a tree.

The police responded to calls for help from residents and both men were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The Police are reminding motorists to take the necessary precautions when driving and to obey all road rules to safeguard life and property.
