Cabinet enters second day of retreat
The Portia Simpson Miller-led Cabinet is to go into a second day of retreat today as they seek to identify spending priorities for the next financial year.
A release from the office of the Prime Minister (OPM) says on the first day Cabinet members discussed expansion of the Business Process Outsourcing sector to create 18,000 new jobs.
They also discussed the addition of over 6,000 hotel rooms, including the Integrated Resort Developments over the next three years; new agro parks; and energy sector projects including renewables.
In addition, the Cabinet reviewed the current economic performance and discussed prospects for the future.
The Cabinet deliberations also included wage settlements and the budgeting adjustments required.
