Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips insists that the timing of the programme has nothing to do with impending general elections, which many are speculating could be held before year end.

Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips is to host a radio call in programme to allow Jamaicans to ask questions about the Government’s handling of the economy.

The programme, ‘Call the Finance Minister’, will begin airing on Power 106 FM in October.

Dr Peter Phillips says it will give him a chance to explain the issues in relation to Jamaica’s economic reform efforts.

He is insisting that the programme will not be used as a political football.

Phillips also insists that the timing of the programme has nothing to do with impending general elections, which many are speculating could be held before year end.
