NWC debt write-off programme nearing end

The National Water Commission (NWC) is urging customers with amounts owing to the company to take advantage of its debt write off programme which comes to an end in another 5 days.

Under this phase of the Cruncher 180 Promotion, persons with outstanding balances for more than 180 days have until September 30 to benefit from a 40 per cent write-off.

The NWC has extended opening hours at several locations to facilitate these payments.

The Cruncher 180 Promotion targets active and disconnected water accounts as well as illegally connected water consumers.

The NWC is appealing to persons to visit the commission and make arrangements to settle their balances.

According to the NWC, failure to do so could result in disconnection from the commission’s sewer network, court action which could result in sale of property, arrest and the execution of bailiff activities.
