The Bridgeport Infant and Resilience Basic schools in Portmore, St Catherine are expected to resume normal classes this morning after being ordered closed due to an outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease last week.

Both institutions were ordered shut last Monday after several students became infected with the disease. Following the closures, the Ministry of Education undertook an extensive clean up exercise at both schools.

Speaking with The Gleaner Power 106 News Centre last evening, education minister, Ronald Thwaites, said all is in place for schools to reopen this morning.
