Hope McCormack

The following is a tribute from the family of Dr Hope McCormack who passed away on October 6, 2011.

'Cherry', as Hope was affectionately called, was infectious. Just as the pet name suggests, she ( like a cherry ) was small in size, petite, but added the perfect blend of sweet and tanginess in people’s lives, that left many reeling in the aftertaste of having met such a beautiful woman. She had a happy disposition, sharp intellect and a special kind of love, always mindful of family, people and church.

Mom, we remember your wonderful sense of humour, contagious laughter and dramatic verbal and physical expressions at the family dinner table on a Sunday afternoon, which would have us dying with laughter.

You were a fighter and possessed an indomitable spirit that pushed through regardless of the circumstances. As a strong support to your husband and children, you always tried to help us as best as you could. Your advice, counsel, and love kept us through dark days many times, and we will never forget the personal sacrifices you made to help make our lives easier.
Your deep love for God fuelled your willingness to be always working in various church ministries and community organisations,as you were always committed to duty and doing your best at whatever task you were assigned.

Hope was a giver, to God first and then to others. To others, she gave of herself by way of advice, counsel and prayer, helping the needy, financially or materially and making herself available as often as she could.

When you left us, you left a void in our hearts for a beautiful companion, mother grandmother and friend.

We will always remember you as a devoted wife, supportive mother, loving grandmother and much more.

Oh how we love and miss you dearly, Ascott, Lisa-Gaye, Dionne-Sheree, Alex, Dominick, Deidre-Kaye, her dear and close friends and others whose lives she touched and impacted in a significant way.
