PNP selects North Central Clarendon candidate

The People’s National Party (PNP) has selected medical doctor, Desmond Brennan to attempt to wrest the North Central Clarendon seat from the Jamaica Labour Party’s Pearnel Charles.

Brennan, who is a senior medical doctor at the Chapelton Hospital, was given the nod over former JLP member of parliament for North Clarendon, Laurie Broderick, whose interest prompted angry comrades to threaten protest.

Brennan told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre yesterday that his candidacy has been signed off on by the PNP secretariat.

Meanwhile, Charles is insisting that Brennan, who is a government worker, must resign from his job.

However, Brennan says there is no need to resign as there is precedence for his selection even among the opposition JLP.
