Members of the Negril business community are warning the police to heighten their vigilance in the area to prevent a recurrence of criminal acts similar to the murder of six family members in Logwood, Hanover last week.

The issue was discussed during the monthly meeting of the Negril Chamber of Commerce, last night.

One hotelier, Kevin Levey, expressed concern that last Thursday’s murders in Logwood, which is less than five miles from Negril, could be the beginning of a dispute resolution trend for criminals.

He said he fears it could even spill over into Negril.

Levey also expressed concern that with the impending construction of what is to be the largest hotel in Negril, at Bloody Bay, there will be an influx of outsiders and inadvertently criminals to the town.
