Bunting says financial industry must help in fight against lottery scam

Speaking at the 4th Annual Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Financing of Terrorism Conference, Minister of National Security, Peter Bunting told industry players that they have a duty to protect the industry.

Minister of National Security, Peter Bunting is calling for players in the financial services sector to work with regulators to tackle lottery scamming.

Speaking at the 4th Annual Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Financing of Terrorism Conference, Bunting told industry players that they have a duty to protect the industry.

He says it’s important that those in the industry work with the authorities given the link between white collar crime and violent crimes associated with the lottery scam.

According to Bunting, the Government has implemented a number of measures to deal with financial crimes.

He says the government is fully aware of the challenges facing the industry and will continue to work to strengthen its capacity to assist in the prevention, detection and prosecution of financial crimes and crimes related to the financial industry.
