Shemar Shand, a lower sixth-form student at Calabar High School, is the recipient of the 2015 Adrian Wallace Bursary Award from the GraceKennedy Foundation.

The award was established in 2006 in honour of the late Adrian Wallace, a former director of both GraceKennedy Limited and the GraceKennedy Foundation. The award serves to encourage boys at Calabar to strive to be the best in academics and sports.

Caroline Mahfood, executive director of the foundation, said, "Shemar has proven that there can be a balance between both as he sat nine CSEC exams, receiving five grade ones, while leading his school to be the all-island champions in basketball."

In addition to the bursary, valued at $50,000, to assist with his educational expenses, Shemar also received the Adrian Wallace plaque.
