Horace Dalley said the public sector pay policy review is aimed at examining and guiding how civil servants can best be compensated for their work.

The Ministry of Finance and Planning is to begin a public sector pay policy review during the current fiscal year.

Minister with responsibility for the Public Service, Horace Dalley, made the disclosure during this week’s signing of the 2015/17 Heads of Agreement for the Association of Librarians in the Jamaica Library Service and the Academic Staff Association of the College of Agriculture, Science, and Education.

He said the review is aimed at examining and guiding how civil servants can best be compensated for their work.

It is expected to be completed by the end of the 2016/17 fiscal year.

Dalley said the findings will be shared with unions representing public sector workers and government stakeholders, as the administration moves to preserve the quality of the civil service establishment.
