MOCA nabs alleged lottery scammer, victim lured to Jamaica to discuss winnings
The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) has nabbed a man they say is the mastermind behind an operation which lured an American to the island to discuss alleged lottery winnings.
The police say acting on information they conducted an operation on October 20 in Montego Bay, St James.
They say this operation resulted in the arrest of the man.
MOCA says the American told investigators that over a five year period money was sent to the suspect in order to claim his lottery winnings.
It was also revealed that there was an attempt to purchase a motor vehicle with a credit card belonging to the victim.
MOCA says the suspect will be interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
